I have an lgc1 77 rt4k, but I only use it when everyone is over or for the ps5. I still want this tv for my xbox, wii/U, and for me, the xbox 360 was my last favorite retro console. Couch gamer forever.
@@mexdrago3009 this 910 will accept 540p over dvi. It's pretty amazing since it looks better than 1080i and is lagless.
I wonder how this compares to the Retrotink 4K.
@@AFreakinProblem very similar these days
Yup...looking this after the new announcement.
Hello, how did you make your cable work in direct video mode? I bought a VGA to Scart RGB cable, especially for MiSTer, and also an HDMI to VGA converter, and it doesn't output colors, only a black screen and silhouettes.
My monitor worked on 321x240 120hz 1 pixel more than standard HA
i also wanted to add that if you're using an ATI or AMD card, then CRU will most likely not work, because the driver low-level blocks any unusual resolutions. you can add the resolution in CRU but it won't switch to it. you need to use CRT emudriver (it's a modified AMD driver that allows it to output unusual and very low resolutions), then use the bundled vmmaker tool to add custom 31khz resolutions for all the different consoles, the list of resolutions can be found in the libretro forums, the post is named "15khz crt documentation wiki". only difference is to create once you've done that, the resolutions become selectable in retroarch and actually work.
there is nothing wrong with this tutorial, but you still might not want to do this on a PC CRT. the problem is that the thicker the scanlines, the darker the image, and PC CRTs are much usually much dimmer than TVs to begin with. i found 640 x 480 to be a good tradeoff between good brightess and the authentic scanline look.
Did you do it on a higher refresh rate? Rtings said only 60fps was slow.
I did 1080p/120hz. Was about the the same.
Does it display the 240p signal directly?
@@_kardus looks like it.
This is a beautiful off-screen showcase of the scaler, just bought mine after the price drop. :)
What all configuration is required?
Is there a video that teaches what the settings mean on sony service menus? I have a kv-36xbr800 with a few issues but i don't know what half these settings do and dobby want to kill the tv to find out.

@@BahnYuki thank you. I'll check that out
Does anyone know the model number of this display? The MXXXX? Hard to locate it online. Ive found two but not convinced they are correct.
How do you like the JVC I'Art TV? Looks awesome from what you show here
Great TV. Sold it to a friend. We do use a 27" version for our local tournaments
I liked your video, but I hate you. How dare you be lucky enough to get this for $5 while I had to go almost cross country (not US, Netherlands) to get my JVC PVM 😅.
Can you some different consoles, so far on youtube, your video seems the most sensible I've watched and it's pushing me to purchase one
I made two more videos on PC. Morph is looking pretty good
@@BahnYuki your earlier videos from a few years ago with the Saturn made me buy the ossc, and I would love to see one with the morph and the Saturn
@@MarkO-ul5hv that's a great idea. I have a retrotink classic i can use to digitize the 240p component output. Then feed that into the morph for 4k
Can you do the same again but with out the scanlines and shadow mask as this was made for HD, it does look good but would like to see it clean as much as i love scanlines.
At that point. Just play the game in 720p
I like the people's that hate hd crts and spread misinformation. I bought two hd crt's already. I want an xbr800 and another 34 widescreen for backup next. I use ps2 opl and set it to 1080i and a moded wii U set to 1080i if I want. lol I do have 480p and sd crts too. I love them.😊
oooo you got your 4k x mine should be arriving sometime this week
Looks great! How much the el gato run you?
$230 straight from their site.
Audio is very quiet
I believe that Shredders revenge actually runs at 480x270p not 240p. Another game that this is fantastic for is Sea of Stars which runs at 640x360. Tried it on my VGA CRT and I can't imagine looking at it any other way. 640x480 and it automatically crops to 16:9 making perfect pixel scaling. Otherwise it looks great
Good catch. I receive my elgato 4kx today. I'll do a direct capture using 1080p decimation of /4
i got a $36 scanline generator from amazon that looks about same as this one
Link please. I have other TVs that could benefit
I got my Morph last week and I am highly disappointed because of many features fail to work out of the box ... to be honest your video doesn't reflect reality. It's a feature overview and product showcase not really impressions how bad or good things work. You skipped almost all the issues with the product. For example HDR10 missing color correction or many mister cores fail to run correctly. update: I checked their discord and it's worse than I thought: hdr10 as hlg are both broken color correction missing, scanlines banding , many mister cores bugged (aspect ratio for example), motion adaptive deinterlacing is broken, and the list goes on and on. I can tell people are not happy including myself.
I mentioned the HDR10 issue and i showcased how HLG HDR worked fine. I haven't had any issues with mister fpga itself. The only issue I've heard about is when using direct video some of the cores info lack the Metadata for their positioning. So cores like NES/SNES can position off screen and you need to shift them over. I don't think it's a big deal, and profiles are being set up per core using direct video. Until then don't use direct video, have the mister output 1080p and let the Morph take it to 4k. Not sure what your reality is, but the Morph 4k has been doing well in my setup. I've been using it daily and am finding it to be a pretty solid product. If you need assistance you might want to check the PixelFX discord, they've been very helpful in any bumps I've run into.
Never saw people so upset that a 4K upscaler upscales to 4K!
Have you updated the firmware? It's very easy once you have the wifi set up. Many of the problems I had with launch firmware were addressed. Pixel FX still has a bit to go to catch up to RT4K, but they are making strides and communicating frequently on the pixel FX discord.
@@BahnYukiDude, I checked their discord and it's worse than I thought: hdr10 as hlg are both broken color correction missing, scanlines banding , many mister cores bugged (aspect ratio for example), motion adaptive deinterlacing is broken, and the list goes on and on. @@takeyourtime3328 Deinterlacing issues were a regression and were fixed and improved a few days back. Right now the only scaler that even attempts colour correction for HDR is the Tink4k so Morph's HDR is at the least on par with everything else. I don't think Mister core issues are PixelFX's fault.
Pls help me i got this monitor with 2.1 hdmi but i cant run 120 fps on ps5
What resolution?
Amazing ❤❤❤❤!!!!🎉🎉🎉
If you have a Mister still and this CRT. You should try a GroovyMister set up. Effectively it is GroovyMAME running from your PC that goes via ethernet into Mister that can display on your CRT, essentially Mister works like a video card for TV. The latency is around 4ms, the Mister automatically displays the gamea correctly on CRT without touching Switchres. The audio and controls have to come from the PC still.
If you opt to use Linux with an X11 desktop environment, you actually don't even need to set custom resolutions. Just enable the "CRT Switchres" option in the settings and it will automatically take care of it for you.
Cool to see someone break down so thoroughly this version of the game
NICE!
makes orta that was made 18 years prior look really good
Hey, how you enjoying JVC? So, is your silverticket screen 1.1 matte white or gray.
I'm actually upgraded to an elite screen 1.3 white
I just got a similar model for $600, but mine has a 3050 (6GB vRAM). I'm loving it so far. Can't believe I got a laptop with a 144hz g-sync monitor and an RTX graphics card for $600. This thing is legit more powerful than my old gaming rig (from like a decade ago).
60fps look amazing on crt tech
It’s an awesome tv! Even though it weighs 300lbs😮💨
I know this video is old but if anyone is reading that... I'm looking to hook-up an old VHS player I found to my Home Theater system, but I'm not sure about the best way to do it. I have an LG CX as a screen, a Denon x3700H as AV receiver, and the VHS player is a Samsung sv-675f. Could the RGB2COMP be a solution to my problem? Like, I think I understand that I could use it to plug the VHS player to the component ports on the back of my AV receiver, and then the receiver would handle the digital conversion so I can get the video signal through HDMI to my TV. But I don't know if a best solution would be to directly use something like the OSSC, which is way more expensive but would directly convert the SCART from the VHS player to an HDMI signal that I could directly feed to the TV... Any seasoned retro tech lovers here who would know how to help me on that matter ? Thanks :)
Great content! And great news for us that are happy to handle slightly non-authentic stuff ;)
Hoping options appear for the upcoming Raspberry Pi 5 (considering it's not as easy to get analog video from it).
Do you use a downscaler from 1080p to 1080i like for Wii U, Switxh, PS4? I am about to acquire this TV. Also, what are these settings in the service menu?
how do you adjust the monitor if there's on screen buttons?
Long live CRT! 😎
Thanks for documenting this! Do you know what the lowest lag 1080p -> 1080i scaler is?

You still got this set today? Gorgeous picture

I have that, nice model
how does the battery life when you disable the external graphics card? i was recently looking at laptops with u or p series processors but if i can get like 6 hours i would prefer to play games in sometimes. rtx4060 would be a great choice.
Nice pickup!
looks great fun, im gonna have to snag this on the pc rather then the switch - cheers Bahnyuki!
